What Is cross listing?
If you’re here, you might be wondering, “What exactly is cross listing?”
Cross listing, in the simplest terms is listing the same item on more than one platform – often times several.
If you’ve cross listed (or cross posted) your item, it will be on many platforms – for example, Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Depop, and Poshmark.
Before we go deep, let me take a quick second to introduce myself so you know who wrote what you’re reading!
I’m Lee and I’m a part-time clothing reseller and mom of 4.
I’ve made over $100,000 (net) from flipping used clothes and I help clothing resellers make more money without hustling harder.
What is Vendoo?
So now that we’ve covered what cross listing is, you might be wondering, “But what is Vendoo?”
Well first, let me give you a little back story….
Back in the old days (actually just a few short years ago), if you wanted to sell your items on multiple platforms, you had to:
- Go to each platform that you wanted to sell on
- Upload pictures to each platform
- Write titles for each platform (yes, you could copy and paste, but you had to enter a title for each and every platform)
- Write descriptions for each platform
Then when things sold, it was even more complicated! You’d have to:
- Remember where else you had your item listed
- Log back into every other platform where the item was still listed
- Manually delist, delete, or deactivate the item so you wouldn’t end up with multiple sales for the same item
- Track and enter all your sales in a spreadsheet for inventory and tax purposes
Basically….it was a lot of work to cross post manually!
So what does Vendoo do?
Nowadays, all that work is basically gone.
Previously, I said, “Forget it! That’s not worth my time or effort.” (When I first started reselling, crosslisting tools didn’t exist. They weren’t even a thing. And I’m not that old! I simply sold on 1 platform and called it good.)
Now with Vendoo, cross listing is much, much simpler. And much, much quicker.
In fact, with a tool like Vendoo, it basically takes just a wee bit longer to get your item to multiple platforms than it does to just one!
Listing On Vendoo
With Vendoo, instead of listing on whatever platform you’re used to listing on, you can list right in Vendoo like this:
The cool part is you enter these things once: the title, the photos, the description, brand, etc….
….and Vendoo will automatically know to put that info into whatever platforms you’re going to be listing to.
Oh, and if you’re like most people coming to Vendoo and you already have listings up someplace, there’s no need to dig up those old photos or have to re-create your listings!
Simply use their import tool:
It will pull your listings (including photos and everything you’ve already entered) so you can get the listings out to other platforms.
(After you’ve imported current listings, you can use Vendoo as your main listing hub moving forward!)
Managing Cross Listed Inventory
Prior to cross listing tools, managing inventory across multiple platforms was next to impossible.
Vendoo not only gives you an easy way to cross list to multiple platforms, but it gives you one place where you can manage your inventory from.
And a place where you can see all your data from like this:
This can really help you make smart business decisions because you can easily see where your sales are coming from, what types of items are selling best, including what brands you’ve sold the most of.
And for anyone nerdy like me, or who needs info for taxes or accounting purposes, you can easily create a CSV file with your records:
So, is Vendoo Worth The Investment?
You can see just how powerful a crosslisting tool like Vendoo is.
But is it worth your investment?
It is a paid tool after all.
Here’s the thing….
Resellers by nature are cheap.
We’re the kind of people who don’t want to spend more than $1 an item when we’re sourcing.
Or better (or maybe worse?) yet, we go for those free items sitting along the side of the road, or the things that people give us free.
Pulling out your wallet can be hard. I get it!
But every smart business owner knows this secret: some expenses are not expenses – they’re actually an investment.
They’re a small expense that helps you make more money in the long run.
I mean, if you paid $25 for something that could make you $400 MORE, wouldn’t that be worth it?
That’s what’s known as getting an ROI – aka a return on your investment.
And with Vendoo, your ROI could potentially be a lot.
Vendoo doesn’t just pay for itself, it pays for itself many times over.
What Does Vendoo Cost?
So what does Vendoo cost?
Well, that’s gonna depend on how big of seller you are.
They’ve got plans for all levels so you never have to pay for more than you need:
Now maybe you’re going, “Yikes!” I don’t want to pay that much!
Again, I get it. But this is an investment in your business. A tool that will MORE THAN pay for itself.
And if you break it down, it’s really just pennies per listing – as little as 4 cents an item.
Pro tip: you don’t have to stay at the same plan – it’s easy to switch!
Let’s say you have 1500 items currently that you want to import, then you’d want to go with the Advance Plan.
You can get your items imported during your first month, and then switch down to a lower plan (let’s say the simple plan) if you only list 100 new items a month.
There’s no commitment and you can jump from plan to plan, or, you can pay for extra listings if you need a few more in any given month.
5 Reasons Vendoo Is Worth The Investment
Still not sure if Vendoo is right for you?
Here is how the investment in Vendoo (more than) pays for itself:
1 – More Eyes On Your Items
You get your items in front of a much larger audience. Sure there’s probably a little overlap between platforms. But a lot of people will only shop one platform, or they won’t shop another.
2 – Higher Average Sale Price
More eyes on your items means that your items are much more likely to sell at the price you’re asking. (Assuming you haven’t over priced).
You will have less need to discount items, put items on sale, or send drastically reduced offers.
3 – Quicker Flips
Selling on multiple platforms generally means your items will sell faster.
This puts money back in your pocket quickly so you can go back and invest in more inventory.
It’s the same repeating cycle: source, list, sell.
But at a faster rate.
This means you can scale your income quicker.
4 – Less Time Managing Inventory
Time saved having to manually cross list aside (because I wouldn’t recommend that at all), Vendoo will make your life easier when it comes to managing your inventory.
You’ll spend less time trying to figure out what sold where and for how much.
It’s all in one place.
5 – Delisting When Sold
Vendoo now has “auto sales detect” capability. This is a newer feature of Vendoo that is game changing!
It will know when your item sells and automatically go and delist it from the other platforms it’s listed on.
No more double selling the same item!
Again, this is a new feature. If you’ve tried Vendoo before and were struggling with this part, I’d encourage you to give it another try.
Who Should Crosslist With Vendoo?
Crosslisting with Vendoo can help nearly all resellers.
Whether you’re full time or part time, Vendoo will help you make more money and with less work.
Here are 4 specific situations where cross listing can help:
- If you’re short on storage
- If you’re short on money (and need to turn your items over faster)
- If you’re short on time (you’ve already done the work of sourcing and listing)
- If you’re not currently selling on eBay, but you’re on other platforms (you definitely want to get in front of the largest audience of buyers out there!)
Who Shouldn’t Crosslist
For this to be an honest reveiw, I’d also like to outline who shouldn’t crosslist.
Cross listing may not be for you if:
- You’re not concerned about quick sales
- Don’t need to turn your money over quicker to grow your business faster
- You’ve got plenty of storage for inventory
- You’re happy waiting for sales (or looking to grow your inventory)
I also don’t recommend cross listing if you’re not willing to:
- Learn the platforms you’re cross listing to
- Follow through with sales strategies specific to each platform
Which leads me to our next topic….how you can further boost your ROI by using a tool like Vendoo.
Boosting Your ROI With Vendoo
If you’re currently only selling on one platform, simply getting your items crosslisted to other platforms will most likely bring in a few sales right off the bat.
But if you really want to get the full benefit of crosslisting, you’ll need to do a couple of things:
1 – Learn how each platform works
Yes, Vendoo makes listing to each platform easy, but you really need to have a concrete understanding of how each platform operates.
How do buyers make offers? How do they find items?
The easiest way to do this is to be a customer yourself and do a little shopping on the platform, if you haven’t already.
2 – Follow through with sales strategies
Sales will likely come in as soon as you get your items out to some other new platforms.
But to continue seeing sales, you will want to follow through with sales strategies.
Some will be specific to the platform, such as creating sales on eBay.
Others work for many platforms.
The strategy that I’ve had the most luck with for making sales on Poshmark and Mercari is delisting and relisting.
And delisting/relisting can easily be done right inside of Vendoo! In a click of a button you can delist/relist from the platforms of your choosing.
(Mine shows just the 3 platforms, since this is where I have items listed. If you have items listed more places, it will show those as well.)
It looks like this:
You can even select multiple items to do this for, all with one click!
You’ll have a box pop up in the corning of your screen as Vendoo is working.
It’ll look like this:
And while it’s running, you can do other things inside of Vendoo (like list).
Or, you can do other things on your computer. (Or go through in a load of laundry, or make yourself a cup of coffee.)
When you look a few minutes later, it will show complete!
(Note, I personally don’t use delist/relist for eBay as I don’t want my “date listed” on eBay changed, plus there’s other effective ways to make sales on eBay.)
Using Vendoo’s delist/relist tool is one of the best ways to make sales on Poshmark and Mercari.

How Do I Sell On Multiple Platforms?
If you’re looking to sell on multiple platforms, you can do it the “old-fashioned” way by creating a new listing on each platform.
This may involve having multiple tabs open in your browser window. And a lot of copy/paste.
The other option is to use a crosslisting tool like Vendoo.
Vendoo will speed up the processes, saving you hundreds of hours of time.
What Platforms Are Best To Sell On?
When you’re first considering cross posting, you might be trying to figure out which platforms to sell on.
I’d recommend sticking with the bigger platforms, namely:
But for most sellers, the main 3-4 platforms are sufficient.
Anything beyond that you’re going to see your ROI decrease for your time invested.
