Why You Need A Label Printer…
Before we get into the MUNBYN Thermal Printer, let me cover “Why you need a label printer.”
There is one reason to invest in a thermal printer…no more having to purchase ink!
Yes, you heard that right!
Thermal printers do not require ink for printing. They use heat to do the “printing,” hence the name “thermal.”
You’ll never have to waste money on ink or toner again.
Once you have your thermal label printer, the only thing you’ll ever need to purchase is label paper. (Don’t worry….the label paper is very cheap! Read on to see which paper I’m using.)

Setting Up The MUNBYN Thermal Printer
Alright, so here’s my experience with getting the MUNBYN thermal shipping label printer set up…
In all, it took about 20 minutes to unbox the printer, get it set up, and print my first set of labels.
I’m not a techy person, but it was pretty easy to follow the directions to get it working.
It comes with two cords – one to plug it into the wall, and the other to plug into your computer via USB cable.
You will also need to install a printer driver. This comes on a thumb drive (included) or you can access it from the website given in the directions.
The only other thing you need to set up is the labels. (Hint: the label should be face up when feeding it into the printer).
Here’s a video of me unboxing and getting it set up:
A fair warning…this video is my first time using any kind of thermal printer, so I might look like a little bit of an idiot!
Even with my lack of knowledge it took me just a few minutes to set up!
What I Think Of The MUNBYN Printer
I’ve been using the MUNBYN printer exclusively now for my printing.
Because I ship a lot, I used up the initial 20 labels in the first couple of days.
I ordered 2000 thermal labels in bulk from Amazon:
Last update on 2023-09-25 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API
(These particular labels do come in as little as 500.)
This should get me through a good 12 months of shipping!
Here’s what I’m liking about the printer:
- The labels print nice and dark.
- The pink is perfect. (Life is too short for boing office equipment!)
- It prints super fast.
- The labels print in order. (No more searching for labels that don’t printer in order on the regular printer – time saved – yes!)
- I’ve had no issues with getting it set up or with it working.
- I haven’t had to contact customer service for help.
The only thing I would change about the printer is this:
I wish it were wireless. I’ve gotten spoiled printing on a wireless printer, so I have to remember to have my laptop next to the printer to plug it in. (Meaning I can’t print from another room – #firstworldproblems).
That being said, the majority of thermal printers on the market are corded. The only one that I know of that is wireless costs another good $100.
One other word of caution:
If you’re used to printing from your phone, it doesn’t seem like there is a way to hook it up to the phone. You will need to printer labels from your computer.
Bottom Line For The MUNBYN Printer:
All in all, I’m definitely recommending the MUNBYN printer!
I’m happy to have a reliable machine that prints my labels quickly.
